Meet Elizabeth 'Liz' Kirt

MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC

I’m Elizabeth "Liz" Kirt, Family & Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I specialize in Integrative Medicine and meeting the patient where there are in their journey.  My journey into nursing was sparked by a deep desire to make a positive impact in people’s lives, aiming to bring a bit of brightness to each day. I began my career as a Registered Nurse and later earned my Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) certification at the University of Colorado. My path took a unique turn when I personally experienced Lyme disease and toxic mold exposure, which inspired me to focus on treating these complex conditions. While supporting patients facing chronic illnesses, I saw a critical gap in mental health services for this group. This realization led me to pursue a Post-Master’s Certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) from Johns Hopkins University. Today, I’m dedicated to helping my patients on their wellness journey allowing them to find success in their treatments.

Rosemary as healing herb

Good digestive health is essential for overall well-being, as it plays a key role in both physical and mental health. A balanced digestive system supports efficient nutrient absorption, boosts immune function, and helps regulate hormones, all of which are vital for energy and resilience. Additionally, the gut-brain connection means that digestive health directly influences mood, cognition, and stress levels. By prioritizing digestive health, we create a strong foundation for vitality, clearer thinking, and a balanced emotional state.

Fatigue can impact every aspect of our physical and mental health. When we’re fatigued, the body struggles to maintain optimal immune function, hormonal balance, and cellular repair, which can lead to a cycle of persistent exhaustion. Mentally, fatigue can make it harder to concentrate, manage stress, and stay positive. When we’re fatigued, the body struggles to maintain optimal immune function, hormonal balance, and cellular repair, which can lead to a cycle of persistent exhaustion. Mentally, fatigue can make it harder to concentrate, manage stress, and stay positive. By addressing the root causes of fatigue, we can restore vitality, improve resilience, and support a more balanced mind and body.

Detoxification is a crucial process for maintaining optimal physical and mental health, as it allows the body to clear out toxins and waste that can otherwise disrupt our systems. Effective detoxification supports liver function, boosts immune health, and enhances energy levels, creating a foundation for vitality. Additionally, reducing the toxic load can lead to clearer thinking, improved mood, and increased resilience to stress. By supporting the body’s natural detoxification pathways, we can help optimize health, elevate mental clarity, and promote a greater sense of well-being.

Thyme as healing herb

To support women through the hormonal changes that come with aging, I use The Menopause Method's patented topical, organic, oil-based bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT). This approach delivers precise, natural hormones through the skin, which can be more readily absorbed and utilized by the body. By using bio-identical hormones that closely match those naturally produced by the body, this therapy helps alleviate symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes, mood swings, and fatigue, while promoting overall balance and vitality. The Menopause Method offers a gentle, effective solution tailored to each woman's unique needs during this life stage.

Micro-dosing popular weight loss medications provides a gentler approach to weight loss, making it easier for patients to incorporate these medications into their routines comfortably. Additionally, by balancing hormones, we can enhance metabolic health, making weight loss more achievable and sustainable. This integrative approach offers a safe, effective way to reach optimal weight.

Lyme disease and toxic mold illness can be debilitating. Lyme disease treatment with disulfiram is shown to effectively reduce Lyme bacteria, offering relief and improved quality of life. In cases of toxic mold illness, I incorporate specific mycotoxin-related binders to safely and effectively eliminate mold toxins from the body reduces symptoms. By tailoring treatments to each patient's unique needs, restoration of vitality, resilience, and long-term health can be achieved.
